Get LotusQDownload LotusQ

Install.

Open the downloaded file and drag LotusQ into Applications. Open it from Applications. macOS asks once whether to open an app downloaded from the internet; choose Open.

Allow three things.

LotusQ's setup screen walks you through each one:

  • Microphone, to hear you.
  • Accessibility, to type into the app you're in, and to read text you select for Compose.
  • Input Monitoring, to notice your shortcut key.
  • LotusQ never asks to record your screen.

Sign in inside the app. Use your email or Google. New accounts get 7 days free, no card needed, and the trial starts the first time you sign in. Without a card you get about 2 hours of dictation a day; adding a card removes the limit. After the trial it's $6 a month or $60 a year. If you don't add a card, LotusQ simply stops transcribing when the trial ends. You're never charged.
