1. Download & Install
Head to the download page and grab the installer for your operating system.
- Download the installer for Mac (Apple Silicon), Windows, or Linux
- Run the installer and follow the on-screen prompts
- Launch LotusQ from your Applications folder or Start menu
On a Mac, LotusQ asks for three permissions: Microphone, Accessibility (to type into the app you're in) and Input Monitoring (to notice your shortcut key).
2. Sign In
When LotusQ opens, you'll be prompted to sign in. Use Google Sign-In for the fastest experience, or create an account with email and password.
Dictation needs an active trial or plan: new accounts get 7 days free with no card, then $6 a month or $60 a year.
3. Your First Dictation
LotusQ uses push-to-talk by default. Press and hold your dictation key, speak, then release to insert text.
- Open any text field (email, document, code editor, chat)
- Press and hold F1 (the default dictation key)
- Speak naturally; your audio streams while you talk
- Release F1, and your text appears in the active app
You'll hear a tone when recording starts and stops, and the overlay shows whether LotusQ is listening or working on your text. On a MacBook, hold Fn with the F-keys.
4. Cloud transcription
There's no speech model on your computer: LotusQ turns your speech into text on our servers, so it needs an internet connection. See what happens to your audio.
